May: 1-Day Workshop (please note change) — "The Human Condition"
Meath Conloan offes a reflection on contemplation, meditation, the search for happiness and our exploration of the world. Yet our wounded self-consciousness gets in the way. We discover our pain and the way we have insulated ourselves with "homemade" selves where we feel protected. Through the contemplative journey we gradually own up to ourselves, becoming fully human. As we move into an unsure future, this process of letting go of false attachments and of self-centeredness is more important than ever.
May: Weekend Fully Silent Zen Retreat
Dr Meath Conlan offers a weekend silent retreat for those on a spiritual quest. Wisdom teaches there are times that are important to walk out in the desert or in the mountains, or go on retreat and listen. Quiet the mind, open the heart and listen deeply. Perseverance is rewarded. Silence is a gift, and those who attend silent retreats typically love it. Be realistic about your physical needs and creature comforts. A silent retreat may prompt insight into the difference between what you want and want you need.
